Annual Blood Drives

Each year as one of our charitable endeavors, we hold a blood drive to honor the memory of a person from our community who has past away. Learn more about the individuals we’ve honored by following the links below:

 

2013 Annual Blood Drive

Highlander Construction & Development and Gay and Neel are pleased to announce that both companies are partnering with the Red Cross to sponsor and host a second annual blood drive. The Blood Drive will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Office Building of Gay & Neel located at 1260 Radford Road, Christiansburg, Virginia. In conjunction with our Annual Blood Drives we select a special person to honor and/or remember. Our Second Annual Blood Drive will be dedicated to the memory of Richard T. Lane who died recently in a tragic car accident near his home in Florida. Richard Lane was life long friend of the President of Highlander Construction.

2012 Annual Blood Drive

Highlander Construction & Development is pleased to announce the company is partnering with the Red Cross and the New River Valley Association of Realtors to sponsor and host an annual blood drive. The Blood Drive will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at the Office Building of the New River Valley Association of Realtors located at 125 Ponderosa Drive, Christiansburg, Virginia. In conjunction with our Annual Blood Drives we will select a special person to honor and/or remember. Our First Annual Blood Drive will be dedicated to the memory of Shirley W. Altizer who was a Realtor and Associate Broker with NRV Gateway Realty and more importantly the mother of Highlander Construction employee LeeAnn Francis. Shirl, as she was known to her friends and family, was diagnosed with invasive breast cancer in June 2008. After a long and very brave struggle she passed away on February 1, 2011.

Homes for Our Troops

MISSION COMPLETE – Homes for our Troops Build Brigade weekend for SSgt Jeremy Austin. The Austin’s were handed the keys to their new home on Saturday October 5, 2013.
