Our History

Having built custom homes in Blacksburg, Christiansburg, Radford, Giles and Pulaski, the company has been proudly serving the New River Valley since 1999. The Company was founded as a Limited Liability Company (LLC) in 1999 for the initial purposes of limited speculative and investment property construction; however over a relatively short period of time the company began to grow.

Through and by market demand Highlander Construction & Development began to diversify its business adding custom residential design and construction, multi family construction, land development, and business consulting to its list of services. In 2009 the company was awarded the "Design Excellence Award" by the New River Valley Homes Builders Association (NRVHBA) for the original design and construction of the homes on Piedmont Street in Blacksburg, Virginia. Highlander was also awarded the 2008 "Builder of the Year" by the NRVHBA.
